Club and I play of a handicap of 2 the course is approximately 15-20 minutes drive from Lydon’s Lodge.
Ballinrobe golf club was established in 1895 where there was a lovely 9 hole course at the race course situated on the Castlebar road. In 1995 it moved to Cloonacastle (Ballinrobe Golf Club).
In recent years it got into the top 100 courses in Ireland currently 95th and is reputed ot be one of the finest in the West of Ireland. World renowned IRISH golfer Padraig Harrington described Ballinrobe Golf Club as "The finest Championship Golf Course in the West of Ireland. The Club is a fully restored 250 year old estate house. The layout and design by well know and the late Mr Eddie Hackett. The course is a true championship test playing a par 73 and measuring 7,300 yards.
